happy Birthday Alan...
A Wee Birthday smile... just for you. Alan... woke up on the morning of his birthday
And went downstairs for breakfast...
he hoped his wife would wish him a Happy Birthday....
and possibly give him a small present.
As it turned out... she barely said good morning...
let alone.... “Happy Birthday".
Alan thought.... Well... that’s women for you...
So he left for work....feeling pretty low and
somewhat despondent.
As Alan walked into work the work's young secretary Jane said...
“Good Morning Alan... and by the way... Happy Birthday!".
He felt a little better that at least someone had remembered.
Alan worked until noon... when the secretary came over to him
and said...
“You know Alan... It’s such a wonderful day outside....
and it’s your birthday... so what do you say if we go out for lunch...
just the two of us?”.
Alan thought... that’s the greatest thing he'd heard all day.
They went to lunch... And she chose a nice quiet place with a private table.
They had two drinks each and Alan enjoyed the meal tremendously.
On the way back to work... Jane with a bright smile on her face said..
“It’s such a beautiful day.
We don’t need to go straight back to work.... do we?”.
“I guess not".....said Alan..... What do you have in mind?”.
She replied..... “Let’s drop by my house it’s just around the corner".
After arriving at her house.... Jane turned to Alan....
and in a romantic sort of way said.....
"If you don’t mind.... I’m going to step into the bedroom to slip into
something more comfortable..... I’ll be right back".
“Sure".... Alan replied excitedly.
Jane went into the bedroom and after a couple of minutes...
came out carrying a huge birthday cake …followed by Alan's wife....
and dozens of his friends and co workers all singing...
“Happy Birthday”.
Alan just sat there on the couch.....
