WOW this is IW response, they are not going to give us dedicated servers, what a load of rubbish.

My brother plays on the PC also, and he said IW did the same thing with CoD4:MW. We have dedicated servers in that don't we? I think we can expect dedicated servers in the final release or in an early patch/update.

Why not? If Infinity Ward can change their mind once, why not again? Why would anyone want to take such a large amount of the community that the game would draw (in multiplayer mode) in both competitive and casual gaming, and modders and map makers, and destroy that community along with the sales they could've had? It makes no sense to downgrade the PC experience to the lower levels of the Xbox 360 and such, thus ruining the gameplay for the PC gamers. Hopefully IW makes this into another CoD4:MW incident.

This is sad..No dedicated servers my cousin saw me playing COD4 on PC when he is a PS3 user and he was ready to up and jump on a PC and play because he liked the better control and awesomeness. They will lose so much money if they keep this up..I have a feeling they will give in. I think we could compromise with a Server List setup like the one we have now AND the Matchmaking System they want...So if people want to do what they suggest we can use it why still have what we think keeps the company great....Its not OUR FAULT that PB sucks. VAC is even worse....Followed by X-Trap and GameGuard. There is no 100% way to remove hackers and cheaters other than to keep your product up to date and make sure you keep the population down...Have a better CD Key checking software...Don't hang your fans because you can't develop a better system.

They don't care about the fans...The only people I think care about the fans are the PC only games like WoW and Everquest, Everquest II, Darkfall etc. Because there entire money stream comes from making the PC users happy.

I walk into GameStop to but a game and its always the same year and a half old games on the rack...and its 1 rack....Why all around the room is PS3 and Xbox360 and Wii, DS etc....I just hate it....They just rip out the internals of a computer and throw it into a shiny case to ONLY play games....Imagine if you console gamers upgraded your PC's once and a while...you could use that graphics card and processing power for EVERYTHING! Not just games and hanging out on your TV...I do the exact same thing on my computer but I can do a lot more than you console gamers....and I don't get Red Rings of Death or the Yellow Light. or anything....If I have a problem with my computer I fix it or if I can't fix it I call geek squad or something.

LOL, sh*tstorm, that's funny but true. I personally think that making it into a universal format for both consoles and PC's is going to be a major downfall. At least we can hope for a chance to play against the nubs on xbox

I hate the consoles all the new ones were just ripped off a PC you crack open a Console and I am looking at a A a mutation.

The console is like a human with only half a brain it can't run like a PC so all it does it play games and act stupid.


They killed it...I went from the MW2 thread watching the videos and I see this thread and I am pissed...Oh well I have canceled my pristine edition of MW2


I am considering buying for console but I don't want to give them anymore rev. But if there is going to be no dedicated I might as well just get the game for my PS3

join our panel on BASH today. He let us in on the news that IW was
taking Modern Warfare in a new direction. The online game on PC has
changed. Dedicated servers are out. IW.net is in.




This is a game changer and many of you may not be too happy. I for
one will be willing to listen and try it out. It’s all I can do.




For the folks in our community that mod and map, the future does not look as bright as the past.





The community manager says his hands are tied and he wants us to be willing and try it out.....HECK NO! We want our Dedicated Servers

WOW this just goes to show their complete contempt for the pc gaming community, no chance of them backing down.
