No dedicated servers (atleast at launch)

Plus no PB, replaced by Valve's (Steam, Half-Life) VAC (Valve Anti-Cheat).

Whether the PB thing is good or bad im not really bothered but the server thing sounds VERY bad...

I dont think any of this is confirmed yet, I cant believe they will have no dedicated servers, a lot of server hosting company's are already doing pre orders.


Although if it is true then I am not going to buy the game.


Edit: It looks like this maybe true, think i am going to cancel my pre order, what a bunch of f****ng IDIOTS, this is a big FAIL.

It is confirmed true that they will not have dedicated servers, whether they change their mind or patch it is a different story. If you want to hear the confirmation (http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/2369799) its very long (around 3 hours) skip to 1:40:00 and listen for a while and you will hear IW's own Robert Bowling announcing 'no dedicated servers'.

Pre Order canceled!

I would suggest that people not waste there money buying this game on the pc! , maybe they will realize what a stupid mistake they have made and patch the game later on, but for now they are not getting any money out of me.

Apparently amazon.co.uk have already had over 2000 canceled orders!

Our game servers run on remote servers hosted in large data centres, they have a lot of system resources and are connected via very fast 1000mbs connections, very close to and if not in some cases directly to large internet backbones.

as there will be no dedicated servers for mw2, the only way you could create a private server would be as a listen server on your own pc = FAIL (big time!)

They're turning the PC game into the Xbox multiplayer. That's what it was like when I played CoD4 on the xbox. You just had one person host and if they dropped everyone got booted. This is gay

When the host leaves ecleast they select a new host and continue the game now :)

Its still a really great game even if the whole server hosting thing is screwed up now
