| Modern technology has drastically reduced the perceived size of the world. Bringing far away geopolitical events to our doorstep...through new mediums of communication. Information that used to take weeks to propogate down to the average family home... now takes seconds... facilitated by the Internet. The world really has grown a lot smaller in the last hundred years or so..don't you think it's a marvel how easily we can comunicate with each other now.. can you Imagine life without the computer?...your thoughts...LOW |

Sir, I cannot imagine life without computers. However, I am mindful of how because of modern technology, i.e., computers, we have also become slaves to the very technology that has brought us forth into a new era.
For instance, the lost art-form of letter writing (remember the days of pony express) has been replaced with e-mail. Birthday cards that once visited our street mailboxes, are now located in our virtual mailboxes. Have you seen the countless misspellings in many of our posts? Spellchecker has replaced our ability to correct our own mistakes. We shop online, read online, play online and yes, we even date online. Simply put, we would not even have to leave our homes if we did not want to because we can use our computers to fulfill our every desires (yes, we are aware of what sites some of you like to frequent).
But you are correct that technology has made the world a much smaller place. But it has also made us fat and lazy as well. If only I could make my computer clean the house and cook me dinner, my life would be fulfilled! |

| A man was driving down an Alaskan road and his car suddenly broke down. He phoned the Alaskan Mobile Fixit Service and they arrived shortly after. The service man opened the hood and after a while he looked up and said.... "It looks like you've blown a seal". The man replied... "No... it's just frost on my moustache". |
