| Rabid,
I am glad that your spouse received a promotion and that you are financially set. However, many people invested their hard-earned money into these markets. I am not trying to be doom and gloom but the reality is this - people are losing their homes and jobs. Even individuals with college degrees are having a hard time trying to find work just to make ends meet. The prices on food, gas, and just basic necessessities are increasing while paychecks/hours are getting cut! And this is not just here in America my friend. Things are tough all over!
I am ok, but make no mistake, I am damn scared because mister, many are just one paycheck away from being homeless!
OK, that's my opinion - course I could be wrong ....

| Man its all bad news over here as well, blanket coverage, but i agree with rabid, hell something had to give.i mean what can we do about it anyhow. i aint being held to ransome by a media intent on spreading panic and packaging it with a conveniant term like credit crunch.been there before with weapons of mass destruction, war on terror ect. this aint the end of capitalism no need to panic |

| Mr ninja you raise an interesting point about freedom of speech, should goverment intervene?definately not,do they?proberly, but what we need is a bit of perspective here, like beast says m and s didnt make there billion just 940 mill cmon man!! The ownus is on news paper editers and news producers to give some ballanced reporting here.unfortunately in this information tech word nowadays papers and tv are having to compete with a proliferation of new news channels ,internet,3g mobile ect and will always go for the sensational headlines,it seems news producers value veiwer rattings more than content.
ps excuse the bad spelling, product of a seventies education im affraid |

| Job security. It's long been my contention that the Government, in collaboration with the media - especially it's tame lapdog the BBC [ isnt it ironic that we pay for their propaganda machine ] have been spewing out, over the last few years, black and grey propaganda aimed at demonizing those who receive any sort of welfare benefits. Its going to be nice to see a few of the ‘I pulled myself up by my own bootstraps NuLabour supporters become part of the unwashed, lazy, feckless, sponging masses which they so despise. Its a pity that some of those greedy little City boys wont be making their way down Dole Avenue with their pooper-scoopers like many of the real unfortunates in this NuLabour, Neo-Stalinist ‘democracy in which we exist. Social injustice and the rich/poor gap has undoubtedly increased under the NuLabour regime and it's little wonder that they manage to keep the masses under the illusion that it's otherwise when they have so many marvelous propaganda machines which brainwash so many people into willingly accept their spin at face value and blindfold them into not bothering to think the issues through for themselves. It's only at times of great economic hardship that personal experience of that hardship makes people realise that they are only a heartbeat away from being that person receiving those 'benefits' through no fault of their own - then the blindfold is finally removed. ....Is there a bright future ? YOU TELL ME.!!! : |

| "Democracy" thats a matter of opinion.but thats another argument skin i think i agree with you, think were comming from the same place here.I too share a deep mistrust of our media, especially since murdock stepped in and virtually took over every news outlett.man politicians carrying favour to keep their jobs,it stinks.you take that road and its you scratch my back and i scratch yours.not to mention the fact that news now seems to be entertainment to some people, live breaking news 9/11, shock and awe,man what a disgusting piece of shit that was, people being blown away live in your living room at prime time tv slot,f**k that!!! i could go on but you get the jist |
